For over 15 years now TTautodetailing has specialised in complete Car Protection Packages supplied from Gtechniq.

We were there from the very beginnings many years ago when they had their first and only coating C1 Liquid Crystal.

Coatings Benefits

You may well ask what is the purpose of these coatings. I will try to sum it up in a few sentences.

As with any coating the aim is to help reduce the effects of environmental damage being done and also to offer the best finish.

With these new type of nano ceramic coatings they offer the best way to this because of the nano scale structure to their makeup.

So another added benefit is that the surface is super slick and slippery and things cannot grip and stick to them as easily.

This makes foreign bodies such as dirt, tar, tree lime, bird droppings and other fallout less likely to damage the clear coat surface below.

Another benefit to this is that the surface is so much easier to wash dirt off or when you wash the car.

The new nano coating also offer good resistance to high temperatures and also low temperatures. Ranging from 250 down to -40 degrees.

So sunlight and winters can be driven through without any real damage being caused to the painted surfaces.

All these coatings have a limited life span but they can last a fair few years if cared for in the right way.

Procedures before coatings are applied:

• Normal multi-stage wash procedure including co-polymer removal to take off any transport wax still present on new cars.

• Wheels cleaned with safe wheel cleaner, Iron X, Tardis, Citrus and TFR with a variety of soft brushes.

• Arches fully cleaned and degreased.

• All panel gaps cleaned and degreased with Citrus cleaner and small brushes.

• Door shuts, bonnet, boot and engine bay degreased if necessary.

• Lower areas of car sprayed with Citrus pre-wash and left to dwell for a few mins then rinsed to remove loose dirt.

• Entire vehicle rinsed and a thick blanket of Snow foam left to dwell for a few mins then rinsed to remove loose dirt.

• Rinsed and washed with two bucket method and soft pure lambs mitt.

• Car bodywork then decontaminated with Tardis, Iron X and a co-polymer remover to remove all traces of transport wax.

• Clay Bar Treatment - For embedded contamination.

• 1 stage of  machine polishing.

• Final wipe down with panel wipe to remove any further traces of oils and waxes from polishes.

• Gtechniq or equivalent coatings applied inside and out to every surface.
